Okay first off, I'd like to sadly accept the award for Bad Mom of the Day for the state of Arizona. This morning my sweet little baby Elli fell off my bed. Yep, it finally happened. And mom, I can hear you in my head saying "I told you so, you should've been more careful." But I was careful!! I placed the impenetrable Wall o' Pillows around her! Come on we know that 7 month olds can't scale a wall of pillows stacked two high all around her, don't we? Well, apparently that doesn't apply to my 7 month old, she just burrows underneath them or bulldozes her way through them. Which this morning resulted in a lovely THUMP and then crying while I was trying to have my morning constitutional. When I got out to her, her little face was red either from the crying or because that's where she landed, I couldn't tell. As Carlos said, it's a good thing she doesn't have very much cartilage in her nose right now. Ouch!! Sorry honey, mommy will no longer leave you on the bed unsupervised because you've proven your craftiness as getting through walls of fluff and your trusty little stuffed bunny isn't even enough to distract/talk you down from jumping anymore.

Second, I mention this with some trepidation because I fear that this post will end up jinxing me and I'll have a day filled with pee pee accidents but I'm pretty confident and proudly announce that Lexi is for the most part POTTY TRAINED!! That's right folks, she's in her big girl panties! For the past week or so she has been using the potty independently and as I type this I can hear her singing "Lexi pee pee toilet, Lexi pee pee toilet" to the tune of "Happy Birthday." Now, I say mostly trained because we have yet to conquer the act of the bowel movement but I'm sure that will come soon. At least I hope because it is no fun cleaning poo out of big girl panties. She gets a sticker and one jellybean each times she uses the potty successfully and I'm running out of butterfly stickers and purple jellybeans because that is all this girl wants! Now, all we have to get is the boy to cooperate and my life will be peaches considering I'll be going from having three in diapers to one. And it will be awesome. And I'll have to brag about it. And I'm sure everyone is tired of me blogging about poo and pee because I still think it's sad that someone found my blog by googling "diaper pull-up." Anyway, that is all :)

I hope it makes you feel better that I've let BOTH of my babies fall off the bed. Yep. The sound is the same. "THUNK", pause... "loooooud wail". What made it worse, was I was in the bed sleeping with her/him. I felt horrible too. But they turned out okay!
This is exactly why I sold my big wonderful bed and am now just using the crappy metal bed frame. Lower to the ground. Although I haven't had a kid fall off yet. I guess I just have the fear.
You're a good mom, and I hope Lexi continues down the road of potty using.
That just brought back horrible memories of my 3 yr old falling off our bed as a baby. Ouch! So sad!
But wooooohoo for getting kids to potty train!
you are a great mom. I will have to show you pics of one of Addie's falls . . . not fun!
Austin just fell off of our bed a month ago or so. I don't know how he managed it. I was right there and I had put him in the middle. He did a flying leap facedown and then ended up stuck in between the bed and the end table. What made it worse was that I panicked and grabbed him by the feet and swung him around upside down almost hitting his all ready banged up head on the wall.
Oh well. They survive right?
LOL Brits, that is the funniest thing I've heard all day!! I just pictured it all in my head and I actually laughed out loud. Not that it would be funny to bang your baby's head into a wall but you know what I mean. And yeah, hopefully my offspring will make it to adulthood, I seem to be making it quite the task for them.
(raising my hand as one of those "bad parents"). Ethan fell off the bed once when both of us were in the room. We both happened to walk out of separate doors at the same time about 10 seconds before the thunk.
Rachel fell down the stairs TWICE. Both times in front of my in laws. I kept assuring them that she knew what she was doing and was perfectly safe (because the other 3,563 times she did the stairs she WAS).
Katie, of course, decided to also fall down the stairs in front of my MIL. What better way to show off my fine parenting skills?
both of mine have done it and I'm sure the next one will too ;) Not that I am bragging.. Because I too had an experience like Brits, where Avery was wedged between the bed and end table. I had to grab her by the leg, because as soon as I did my mom leap on the bed to rescue her it moved the bed and she slipped a little further down. I snatched her leg whipped her up and felt like the worst Mom in the world!
that wasn't supposed to be anonymous... whoops sorry
Stacey, my long lost cuz, I am so excited you and Whit have a blog. I had no idea! I seriously cannot believe how big your kiddos are. They are so stinkin cute, you should have 12.lol..... Looks like you guys are doing great. We missed you at Bar D this year!!
Maybe I am. Where you headed next?? Mwuahahaha.
Caught you at Becka's.
Anytime, anyplace. Ha!
I've lost you now. I think the space where our blogging lives overlap has been covered. Sigh.
Stacey with all of the blogstalk talk, I must "out" myself to you. I found your blog through Rubyjade's and have been a silent reader of your blog. I cant get enough!
